The arp foundation is an artist's foundation, the creation of which Jean Arp had wished for and outlined several years before his death. Created in 1978 on the initiative of his second wife, Marguerite Arp-Hagenbach, the Foundation is dedicated to the dissemination and protection of the exceptional collection with which it is endowed, as well as to the promotion of the cultural heritage of Jean Arp and Sophie Taeuber, in France and abroad. The arp foundation was recognized as a public utility by the decree of July 17, 1979, modified by the order of June 10, 1997. Its collections were designated a "musée de France" by decree of March 9, 2004.
