The exhibition

Drawing on both the rhythmic impact of her globalised Moroccan musical culture and her background in 3D animation and video mapping, Meriem Bennani deploys an orchestra of flip-flops at Lafayette Anticipations, offering an invigorating experience of artistic invention and collective joy under the guise of absurdity. ‘Flip-flops have something cartoonish about them: they're elastic, changeable, almost alive. In English, “flip flop” is an onomatopoeia, the word imitates its own sound,’ explains Meriem Bennani.
