Olivier Debré - La peinture en scène
The exhibition
With ‘La Peinture en scène’, the major new exhibition devoted to Olivier Debré (1920-1999) at the CCCOD in Tours, a new vision of the works of the Loire artist is unveiled.
For the first time, Debré's works are presented not in the white gallery, as the art centre's public is accustomed to,‘ explains
Marine Rochard, the exhibition curator, ’but in the black gallery, a space evoking the atmosphere of
theatricality characteristic of stage curtains."
In this obscure space, the preparatory studies for four curtains produced by the painter give a glimpse of his approach to the performing arts.
