The exhibition

At 89, David Hockney is one of Britain's most popular and influential contemporary artists. The Fondation Louis Vuitton is dedicating an exhibition of unprecedented scope to him, bringing together over four hundred works ranging from 1955 to 2025. While several iconic paintings from his early years are on display, the exhibition focuses on the last twenty-five years of his work.

David Hockney started out as a draughtsman, before mastering all academic techniques. From Pop Art to hyperrealism, he continues to evolve his style and practice, happily exploring new technologies, painting on iPads since their invention in 2010. For him, each new direction has its roots in the work that preceded it.
