The Senns, Collectors and Patrons: A Vibrant Tribute to a Dynasty of Visionary Collectors

On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Hélène Senn-Foulds donation, the MuMa celebrates the legacy of a family and artistic saga with a new exhibition dedicated to the Senn Collection. Encompassing 205 Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works, this bequest remains distinguished by prestigious names such as Boudin, Monet, Sisley, Pissarro, Degas, Renoir, Marquet, and Cross. This retrospective seeks to move beyond the central figure of Olivier Senn to encompass an entire lineage of art enthusiasts. It also highlights the contribution of his son, Édouard Senn, who succeeded in enriching his father’s legacy with modern and contemporary works. This exploration illustrates, across three generations, a family’s unwavering commitment to the art of their time.
