The exhibition

To comment on this exhibition, which shows most of the works represented by Matisse beaming around the clock face, the cyclopean eye at the center of l'Atelier rouge of 1911 - a canvas that heralds abstraction and the monochrome phenomenon, and at the same time surpasses them with its surprising red color - we have chosen to publish here a revised extract from a text published in the Revue d'esthétique in 2008 by our collaborator François Jeune.

Extract from the article by François Jeune published in N°110 of the magazine Art Absolument. Published on 2 July 2024
