The exhibition

When Pol Taburet explains that he "would have liked to be in sound", it's easy to believe him. And yet, at just 26 years of age, while he began working in sculpture for his exhibition at Lafayette Anticipations, it was his painting that propelled him into the limelight, where the Pinault collection's early devotion to him was remarkable. Through the intermediary of his Guadeloupean mother, he discovered echoes of the quimbois, the West Indian voodoo, and the figures he poses in settings reduced to planes of muted colour - not unlike Francis Pinault.
the Creole pantheon and the trap culture that has spread from the black neighbourhoods of Atlanta.
