La Ruche, an artists' city with more than sixty studios, will welcome Jean-Michel Meurice and Jean le Gac from February 11 to February 20, 2022. Born in 1938 in Lille, the painter and director Jean-Michel Meurice is one of the co-founders of the Supports/Surfaces group, an artistic movement at the origin of French contemporary art in painting and sculpture. The painter Jean le Gac was born in 1936. Attached to the narrative art alongside Boltanski or Messager but also very close to Picasso and Braque in his practice, he tends to give these artists the honor. Pioneers of contemporary art and friends for many years, they had the opportunity to exhibit their works together on three occasions. La Ruche, an emblematic place of contemporary artistic creation, allows resident artists to be their own curators and organizers. Thus, for one week, Jean-Michel Meurice and Jean le Gac will offer the public an exceptional exhibition, mounted by them.
