Founder of Éditions du Regard, he is a writer specialized in the art, decorative arts and architecture of the 20th century. In particular, he helped write the Dictionnaire de l'art moderne et contemporain published by Hazan in 2002.  A specialist in art deco, he is the author of reference works on the subject, notably with Histoires de l'Art deco, published in 2010. He is the author of novels and art books.

Anna la nuit, her first novel, has an autobiographical character. The novel was published in 2008. His second novel, Avec la mort en tenue de Bataille, is a novel inspired by the story of his grandmother and especially during the Spanish War period, published by Albin Michel in 2016.
