Pascal Bonafoux

Professor and art historian, Pascal Bonafoux was a resident at the Villa Medici of the French Academy in Rome in 1980 and 1981. He directed the exhibition office of the Association Française d'Action Artistique within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was for twenty-five years Secretary General of the Cité Internationale des Arts de Paris. Particularly interested in the question of self-portraiture and the Impressionist movement, Pascal Bonnafoux has published reference works on the subject: Monet, 1840-1926 (2007, Perrin), Moi je, par soi-même - Autoportraits du XXe siècle (2004, Diane de Selliers éditeur), Rembrandt, autoportrait (1985, Skira).
