"I really like this image of Albert Einstein sticking his tongue out: in paintings, mouths are usually closed, tongues and teeth rarely visible. In my work, it's the opposite: you can see the scream, the mouth, the tongue and the teeth. Saliva too. Painting saliva interests me, even if it sometimes disturbs those who look at my work. After that, a work should speak for itself, which is why I try to say as little as possible about it." Gastineau Massamba

GASTINEAU MASSAMBA. MAKUKU MÂ TÀTÛ

"I really like this picture of Albert Einstein sticking his tongue out: in painting, mouths are usually closed, tongues and teeth rarely visible. In my work, it's the opposite: we see a lot of the scream, the mouth, the tongue and the teeth. Saliva too. Painting saliva interests me, even if it sometimes disturbs those who look at my paintings. After that, a work of art has to speak for itself, which is why I try to say as little as possible about it."
