Billie Zangewa's work has recently been included in collections such as the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art on the other side of the Atlantic, as well as the Tate and the Centre Pompidou. Born in 1973 in Malawi and now based in Johannesburg, her autobiographical scenes in embroidered silk weave a soft feminism representing her daily life. A way of signifying that "the private is political" as much as it can be displayed in a seductive light.
