What can we expect from the experience of art if not that it affects us? Because frequenting the world of prison has imposed itself on him as the vector allowing him to gain a deeper knowledge of the other and of himself, the art of Nicolas Daubanes is declined in the order of plastic propositions that leave no viewer untouched. Beyond his experience, he has been able to draw the threads of a polymorphous work that goes beyond any documentary consideration to elaborate the terms of a poetics of the human condition. Both radical and experimental, Daubanes' works are richly inventive, with an intelligible and sensitive relationship to the world that inspires them. Between fragility and gravity, between attraction and retention, between construction and destruction.
