"Starting from lyrical abstraction, my business is the search for rapid figurative signs in order to establish a kind of pictorial autobiography, in the same way as a writer, hence the breaks in styles and mediums (drawings , paintings, collages, objects). That's kind of why I've been given all sorts of labels, from Pop to Narrative Figuration... For the exhibition La force de l'art, the art critic Anne Tronche chose to represent me by three works recalling my Caribbean and black origins, and the personal response I bring to them. »
