Born in 1931 in Paris, a precursor of Figuration Narrative, his first exhibitions with Télémaque and Klasen at the Mathias Fels gallery date from 1956. Interested by the world's political news, always capable of indignation and revolt, he works from photographs, with a predilection for popular culture and subjects that are at first sight "neutral" such as sports or jazz, pretexts for him to take a stand. A large travelling retrospective devoted him in 2002.
