Judit Reigl, Panta rhei
The exhibition
At a time when the work of Judit Reigl, who died in 2020, seems at last to be getting the attention it deserves - a museum exhibition has just closed in Berlin and two are being held in Budapest - the fifteen or so works brought together by her friend Janos Gat at Galerie Dina Vierny demonstrate the breathtaking fire she stole from matter and time. From two small ink drawings from 1954, marking her last surrealist moments as well as her first abstractions, to her cutting of a canvas streaked with metallic streaks in 2010, the ensemble opens up different milestones in her long career.
